Board Approves Replacement Technology Levy for Feb. 9 Ballot
At the Nov. 10, 2009 school board meeting, the board agreed to place a replacement technology levy before the voters on Feb. 9, 2010. The current technology levy expires in 2010. The proposed measure will ensure that Federal Way students have a level playing field when competing with students around the state, across the nation and in our global community. The six-year levy has been structured to keep homeowners' school taxes level through the full six years of the levy. Read more »
Bond Measure Passage Continues to Generate Grants, Rebates
Federal Way Public Schools continue to see unexpected benefits from the passage of its construction bond measure in 2007. Because the FWPS community agreed to fund the rebuilding of five schools and several other district facilities, the district has been able to leverage that local commitment for additional state and corporate dollars. FWPS Superintendent Search Firm Retained
On December 8th, the Federal Way Public Schools Board of Directors voted last night, to retain McPherson and Jacobson, L. L. C. Executive Recruitment and Development to conduct a comprehensive search for the district's new superintendent. The base cost for conducting the superintendent search is $23,500.
